Day 15: Self-Massage
Welcome to day 15!!!
Okay, I'm getting more and more personal with you here.
Sharing with you THE GOODS.
Yin yoga is in my heart, for sure, but todays ritual... more than ever.
TOUCH.
Do you know the power of touch?
I'm sure you've felt how relaxed and in tune with yourself you were after a long one hour massage, right?
Time to give ourselves that feeling, today, my loves.
In one of our most vulnerable places that usually never gets touched.
Our front midsection, our belly, tummy, stomach, digestive power center, solar plexus chakra.
Touch is powerful.
Touch, here, is WAY powerful.
Today we're digging into a self-massage technique to have you loving and caring for the most sacred part of your self.
I'm going to teach you a massage technique called Chi Ne Tsang.
It's a Thai Abdominal Massage, which is great, because that means we can practice it on ourselves!
Self-practice is extremely beneficial to get really in tune and in touch with your own midsection.
Here, lies so many of your answers.
It's your intuition, your GUT response!
With Chi Ne Tsang, we can also alleviate some digestive disturbances, help move the bowels, and let go of gas, bloating, and constipation.
We will also explore the power of breast massage.
Stick with me here… this one will come tomorrow!
Helpful Reminders..
-- The belly is our center for passion, purpose, and confidence. It's how we see ourselves in the world and how we show up to life. How we digest food is interrelated to how we are digesting life...
-- The breasts are resting on the heart, and have the ability to help us open to love.
-- When we massage these two places, we not only open the physical body up and release tension (like in any massage) but we open up the energy centers or channels to receive information, and we open ourselves up to our own sense of self, our own sense of love.
-- Always massage yourself with intention: see your hands as gifts. The intention can be to infuse yourself with love. The intention can be to detoxify or release. Whatever you need...

Plant-powered recipe of the day:
ORANGE PEPITA PEA PESTO + BUCKWHEAT SALAD
Ingredients
Pesto:
3 cups peas, defrosted or ran under boiling water to "cook"
1 navel orange
1 lime
1/4 cup pepitas, preferably soaked for at least 1 hour
1/2 avocado
3 cloves garlic
1/4 teaspoon pink sea salt
Buckwheat:
1 cup buckwheat groats, cooked
1 cup chopped zucchini
1 cup orange-pepita-pea pesto
1 tbsp chopped fresh mint
1 orange, sliced in segments
1/8 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon pink sea salt
Instructions
Pesto:
Take out your bag of peas and let defrost for at least an hour.
In a food processor, add 2 cups peas, the orange, juice of the lime, pepitas, avocado, garlic, and sea salt. Process until smooth.
When it’s smooth, add in the last cup of peas, and pulse. I do this last step so that the pesto isn’t fully smooth- I like it a bit chunky!
Buckwheat Salad:
Preferably, soak buckwheat in water for 6-8 hours.
Rinse with fresh water, and add to a pot with 2 cups water.
Cook, on medium, for about 5 minutes or until tender.
Rinse, and place in a bowl.
Add zucchini, orange, mint, pesto, chili, and sea salt. Toss to combine.
Today's recipe is brought to you by me! ;)
Paradigm Shifter:
Release control.
The need for control erodes our sense of well-being and adversely affects our relationships- to others and to ourselves. This fear-based pattern stems from our need for stability, security and predictability in our lives, especially when we are faced with such survival issues as earning a living, being in a relationship, or taking care of our physical needs.
Unfortunately, the need for control creates an illusion of security, displacing a trust in ourselves and our connection with source onto external conditions such as who we are with, what we do, where we live, or what we own. As a result, we feel we are victims of circumstances, lacking the power to manifest the lives we want.
It is highly likely that the very thing in your life that you are trying to control is actually controlling you.
Sometimes, we need to let go of trying to control our body weight and health, our food, or anything else we are struggling to ‘get right.’
Let go and let it come to you naturally.
By relinquishing our pattern of control, we can surrender to the experience, see it from a new point of view, and trust that it is giving us new information about ourselves and our life’s journey.
Let go the need to control EVERYTHING in your life.
Surrender and let life happen to you, with you, for you.
You can plan and set yourself up for success,
just keep a surrendered point of view- seeing everything in your experience as truly and deeply meant FOR you.
You release control in your night time "surrendering" journal practice, too!
With super sexy self care and all my love,
Groovy Girl 🦋
